Who am I?Name: Johan Alwall Occupation: I got my PhD at the Theoretical High Energy Physics group,Uppsala University. I am now a postdoc at the Theoretical Physics Group at SLAC, Stanford, California. From Oct '05 to Sep '06 I was at Université catholique de Louvain in Belgium. My Curriculum Vitae (CV) and List of publications (from Spires) What am I up to?Research: I am still mainly working on the development of Monte Carlo event generator tools together with Fabio Maltoni at UCL and Tim Stelzer at UIUC. For my PhD thesis, I extended a model for parton densities in hadrons (with Gunnar Ingelman), and developed an algorithm for matching two different processes for charged Higgs boson production in hadron colliders (and made the source code publicly available) together with Johan Rathsman.
Teaching and courses: In Uppsala, I was problem session leader or assistant at laboratory exercises in many courses during 1998-2005. I also gave the one-day lecture muon decay in the course in Elementary particle physics for three years. Please see my CV for details. Music: I sang and played the saxophone in The Wizard's Apprentice (download our music here). In Uppsala I also played the saxophone and trombone in Glansbandet and played the saxophone and sang in Mats Morén Band. In Belgium I played the clarinet in the UCL symphonic orchestra, and at present I sing tenor in the Stanford Symphonic Chorus. Pictures: |
