The Superseminar

General Information and Schedule

The Superseminar is a 5 p (7.5 hp) course on Supersymmetry and its possible exploration at collider experiments aimed primarily at graduate students in elementary particle physics or closely related fields. Others who share an interest in Supersymmetry and its phenomenology are of course also welcome. The course is planned to begin mid-January 2008 and last for one full semester. The total number of meetings anticipated is of the order 15-20 (approx. once per week).

Format

About one third of the time will be devoted to traditional lectures, one third to discussion seminars (with required reading), and one third to the discussion of problems (which are solved by the participants). Active participation in all these elements will be required to pass the course.

Topics

Topics to be covered in the general Superseminars include the following: Time permitting, there could also be detours into more advanced SUSY-topics of particular interest to the participants.

Literature

Since a large part of the Superseminar will be in the form of self-studies, it is required that all participants have access to the same literature. The main textbook from which the reading material will be selected is:

As side-literature, any of the following books can be recommended: There are also some lecture notes available on the web: Here are links to some articles that may be usefull to read: Here are more links to some articles that were suggested by Johan Alwall: Here is a link to the lecture by Juergen Reuter:
