The EtaMesonNet was a project within the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) of the European Community Integrated Infrastructure Initiative (I3)
The EtaMesonNet network coordinated activities and exchanges of information on the study of mesons,
especially η -mesons, at different European accelerator research infrastructures where they are produced
with complementary processes.
Objectives:
The objective of the network activity was to exchange experience from different experiments with overlapping
interests in η -meson decays at LNF (Frascati), MAMI (Mainz), and TSL (Uppsala).
In addition the network was striving for joint and well targeted goals in the η -meson production
processes itself and other mesons. This can yield information on intermediate resonances
involved and their decay properties. Such studies are a central part of the experimental programs at
COSY (Jülich) , MAMI and TSL.
On the theoretical side, the objective was to formulate a framework in which all production and decay
processes can be calculated reliably.
